# Protected Applications

> Plan coverage for applications behind sign-in, allowlists, and other access controls.

## Identify each boundary

List every boundary the journey must cross, such as product sign-in, an approved
network rule, or a second application. Assign a dedicated test account for each
required role and avoid broad administrator access.

## Keep the journey reviewable

Write the expected state after each boundary. If access cannot be established,
the Run should be `ERROR`; it should not be reported as a product `FAILED`
result unless the product assertion was actually evaluated.
